SECOND ANNOUNCEMENT

Abstract Submission Deadline: 30 May 2008

The Child Accident Prevention Foundation of Southern Africa (CAPFSA), together with its partners will host the annual Conference of the International Society for Violence and Injury Prevention in Cape Town, from the 31st August to the 3rd September 2008, at the University of Cape Town.

In most countries around the world, health policies are increasingly recognizing prevention as the necessary and essential complement to effective cure and care of injured patients. Global programs on Safety Promotion and Injury Prevention have resulted in the foundation of the International Society for Violence and Injury Prevention during the 7th International Safety Conference in Vienna, Austria, 2004.

We are now delighted to celebrate and substantiate this achievement with the founding ISVIP Conference on Children and Injuries. It is envisaged that this Conference will produce clear and founding guidelines regarding child injury prevention and violence prevention globally but also specific for Sub-Saharan Africa.
